How do you choose and buy a laptop on your next trip to USA ?

Many people travelling to USA buy laptops from here or many people staying in USA also give gifts of laptops to their relatives or friends. However before you buy you must take care of a few things mentioned below.

1) Decide your budget and Configuration – This I leave upto you. One thing is for sure though that you will definitely get a much better configuration for a much lesser price in USA.
2) Check the deals : Check out on sites like deals2buy.com, tigerdirect.com , dell.com , techbargains.com, dealsofamerica.com for deals on laptops. Then on certain days the prices are very low for e.g as on black fridays.
3) Check the Brand : Buy laptop from reputed companies and check the voltage rating on the Adaptor. Mostly it's 120-240v. Check if that would work in your country or you might need another Adaptor. Ask the company from whom you are purchasing if they could ship that along with it.
4) International warranty : There is a chance that some problem might come sooner or later in your laptop. In such a situation rather then running to a local technician its best if you have access to GLOBAL warranty for the product that you purchased. Companies like DELL have international warranties and if something goes wrong then it is relatively easy to get service in your country. Contrary to that if you buy some laptop from a company that does not provide international warranty then you might have trouble in case something in the laptop goes wrong.
5) Technical Support : Some companies have great technical support if you buy global warranty. I have heard that if you purchase Dell then if something goes wrong dell technicians come to your house to fix it.
6) Read the documents before purchasing : Read the supplied documents, specially the WARRANTY before purchasing so you will know as to what kind of support you can expect.
7) Talk to a company representative : Most companies or rather all companies provide this service , talk to some people on their end and try to find out the terms of service back home in India.
